Ranchi, Nov 30: Given the increasing cold, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi, today ran a campaign for the poor and requested the people sleeping under the open sky to spend the night in the shelter home run by the municipal corporation.

Under the campaign run following the direction of JHALSA Executive Chairman Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, DLSA Secretary Kamlesh Behra visited various areas of the city from 10.30 pm to 12.30 pm and inspected the shelter homes run by the corporation.

While inspecting the shelter home located at the Khadgarha bus stand, he found that the bathrooms were not clean. After this, he instructed the in-charge of the shelter home to get the bathrooms cleaned immediately and said that this campaign would continue in future too.

He told the in-charge of the shelter home to pay special attention to cleanliness.

Apart from this, he put up posters at various places for awareness and also gave them contact numbers, so that people do not face any problem in reaching the shelter home.

Under the campaign, five poor people sleeping under the open sky on the Main Road were rescued and admitted to the shelter home located at Bakri Bazaar. 15 helpless people sleeping under the open sky around the Khadgarha bus stand were admitted to the men’s and women’s shelter homes located at Khadgarha bus stand. Blankets were also distributed among them.

Apart from this, the corporation employees were requested to make proper arrangements by putting up tents where there are no shelter homes.

Notably, the list of all the shelter homes run by the corporation has been sought from the corporation.

The DLSA Secretary has also asked all the working PLVs to identify the poor and helpless people due to increasing cold in their area and provide them relief with the help of the district administration.
