Jamshedpur, Jan 28: Team Samarthya, the Human Potential Centre of XLRI Jamshedpur, successfully organised the 13th edition of Disha, the city’s largest career counselling fair for school students, on January 25.

The event reaffirmed XLRI’s commitment to guiding young students towards informed and meaningful career choices.

Record Participation from Students and Schools

Disha 2026 witnessed an overwhelming response from students, parents, and educators across Jamshedpur.

The event recorded over 680 registrations and a footfall of more than 550 participants from 40 schools in and around the city.

Prominent schools such as Chinmaya Vidyalaya, DAV, Loyola School, Motilal Nehru Public School, Kasidih High School, and DBMS, among others, actively participated in the fair.

Organised by Samarthya, which focuses on holistic student development, Disha remains its flagship initiative, offering structured exposure to diverse career pathways.

The event featured over 35 career guidance booths and counselling sessions, covering fields such as Management, Engineering, Medicine, Law, Armed Forces, Data Analytics, Social Sciences, Creative Arts, Sports, and Civil Services.

Strong Student Volunteer Support

A total of 230 XLRI student volunteers supported the event, ensuring smooth coordination and effective engagement with participants throughout the day.

One of the major highlights of Disha 2026 was an inspiring speaker session by Prof. Dr. Giridhar Ramachandran, who addressed students and parents on the importance of self-awareness, adaptability, and long-term thinking in career planning.

His insights resonated strongly with the audience and set the tone for meaningful interactions and discussions during the event.

Bridging Career Awareness Gaps

Through initiatives like Disha, Team Samarthya continues to bridge gaps in career awareness by providing students with clarity, confidence, and direction as they navigate crucial academic and professional decisions.
