Jamshedpur, Sept 1: XLRI Jamshedpur, in collaboration with the PGDM (General Management) cohort, organized an insightful session on “Transforming Legacy” featuring Anirban Banerjee, Chief Executive Officer, Eveready Industries India Limited.

The objective of the session was to help students explore how legacy brands can sustain relevance and growth in a rapidly changing business landscape.

It provided future leaders with practical insights into balancing tradition with innovation, while emphasizing strategic agility and inclusive leadership.

Reflecting on Eveready’s journey, Banerjee noted that while legacy offers strength, it can also become a risk if organizations fail to reinvent themselves.

“Survival in business is never guaranteed, even for industry leaders. Reinvention, agility, and continuous alignment with evolving consumer preferences are essential to thrive in today’s market,” he emphasized.

He shared examples of Eveready’s transformation, highlighting how the company has leveraged its strong distribution network while repositioning itself to connect with modern consumers.

Banerjee also spoke about the social inclusion initiative #AawazUthaneyKaPower, developed in collaboration with India Signing Hands, which enhances accessibility of Eveready’s products for the deaf community.

He underlined that transformation must not only fuel business growth but also drive meaningful societal impact.

Students expressed that the interaction deepened their understanding of leadership, brand stewardship, and inclusive business models, adding immense value to their learning journey at XLRI.
