Dhanbad, Dec 8: Altogether 1,919 students will be awarded degrees at the 43rd convocation of IIT-ISM Dhanbad scheduled to be held on December 10.
Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the chief guest and Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
A day before, the Jharkhand governor will be the chief guest at the 98th foundation day function of IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad. Dhanbad MP Pashupati Nath Singh will be the guest of honour while Prof Prem Vrat, Chairperson, board of Governors IIT ISM Dhanbad will preside over the function.

Giving this information, IIT ISM Director Prof JK Pattanayak said the President’s Gold Medal will be given to one student while 43 will get gold medals.
The IIT ISM director said that a total of 1,919 students will be given degrees in the 43rd convocation this year including 43 gold medals.
The Vice-President will give 39 students gold medals. Besides it, 15 students will get silver medals, 19 sponsored medals and nine the best thesis awards.
He said 806 students will be given B. Tech degree, 20 students will get dual degrees (B. Tech and M. Tech, 69 students Master of Business Administration, 145 Master of Science, 95 Master of Science and Technology 311 Master of Technology, and 66 Integrated Master of Technology.
