Bijapur, April 17: A total of 22 Naxalites were arrested in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, with explosives and other materials seized during separate operations, the police reported on Thursday.

The arrested individuals, aged between 19 and 45, were caught at three different locations across the district.

On Tuesday, a joint team of the CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) and local police conducted an area domination operation near Tekmetla village, where seven lower-rung Naxal cadres were apprehended from a forest area under the Usoor police station jurisdiction.

In another operation on the same day, six Naxalites were arrested from forts in Belchar village under Jangla police station limits, while nine others were apprehended from a forest in Kandakarka village, under Nelasnar police station area.

The security forces seized various explosive materials, including tiffin bombs, gelatin sticks, detonators, electric wires, batteries, and Maoist pamphlets, from the arrested cadres.
