25 ministers take oath in new Gujarat Cabinet, Harsh Sanghavi becomes Deputy CM

Gandhinagar, Oct 17: The swearing-in ceremony of the new Gujarat Council of Ministers was held on Friday at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, with Governor Acharya Devvrat administering the oath to the newly inducted ministers. The BJP had earlier released a list of 25 ministers for the new cabinet.

Harsh Sanghavi was the first to take the oath of office and has been appointed the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Governor Acharya Devvrat administered the oath to him.

He was followed by Jitendrabhai Vaghani, a prominent Patidar leader and sitting MLA from Bhavnagar. Arjun Modhwadia was the next to take the oath as minister.

The new cabinet also includes Rivaba Jadeja, Parshottam Solanki, Jitendra Vaghani, Swaroopji Thakor, Praveenkumar Mali, Rushikesh Patel, Darshana Vaghala, Kunwarji Bavaliya, Prafull Pansheriya, Harsh Sanghavi, and Kanubhai Desai.

A day earlier, on Thursday, all ministers in the Gujarat cabinet except Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had resigned.

This morning, CM Bhupendra Patel paid a courtesy visit to Governor Acharya Devvrat and apprised him of the cabinet’s current status. He also sought the Governor’s approval to hold the swearing-in ceremony of the new Council of Ministers.
