Ranchi, May 26: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by the Prime Minister, has approved the empanelment of 68 IPS officers from across the country for appointment at the rank of Inspector General (IG) and equivalent posts at the Centre.

Among them, six IPS officers from the Jharkhand cadre have been empanelled for central deputation.
Jharkhand Officers on the List
The officers include 2007-batch IPS officers Akhilesh Kumar Jha, Mayur Patel, Kanhaiya Lal and Rakesh Bansal. Besides them, 2008-batch IPS officers Anish Gupta, M Tamilvanan and Ajay Linda have also been cleared for empanelment.

Proposal Approved by ACC
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel and Training), the Ministry of Home Affairs had sent the proposal on April 9, 2026, which was later approved by the ACC.
Under the empanelment process, a provisional cut-off score of 8.76 was fixed for officers of the 2008 batch.
Sources said the committee did not approve the names of 55 officers, while decisions on six other officers are pending.
