Daltonganj, February 20: Palamu DC Shashi Ranjan visited a hamlet of a particularly vulnerable tribal group at Nawadeeh to ‘verify the eligibles PVTG are enrolled as electors or if any eligible is still a left out from electoral registration.’

Shashi Ranjan discovered a young PVTG girl, 18, who was left out. She was offered voter registration facility Form 6 right on the spot.

There were some enrolments to electors who were said to have moved out to eke out a living.

The Palamu administration is focusing on the PVTG. Their total population here in Palamu is 14,000 plus, but there is no count of eligible voters among this 14,000 population.

Verification of enrolments to the electoral rolls by the DC, the district election officer, sends out a commitment to ensure eligibles are registered for electoral rolls.
