Jamshedpur, March 1: Karim City College’s literary and cultural organization, SPARK (Society for Promotion of Art and Culture), celebrated its 20th anniversary with the enchanting event ‘Shame-Ghazal’ at the college auditorium.

Jiren Topno, Head of Urban Services, Tata Steel, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, along with special guests Dr Hasan Imam Malik and Dr Mohammad Zakaria.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the esteemed guests, followed by a warm welcome speech from Principal Dr Mohammad Reyaz. He lauded SPARK’s two-decade commitment to nurturing artistic talents among students.

Special guests Dr Malik and Chief Guest Topno praised SPARK’s impactful activities, setting a positive tone for the evening.

Renowned Ghazal singer Ajay Rai mesmerized the audience with Gauhar Aziz’s poetry, initiating a captivating lineup of performances by talented individuals such as Dhritiman Mandal, Sujata Bhadra, Indranil Pal, Aanchal Singh, Saurav Chaudhary, and Ayush Mitra.

The musical accompaniment, featuring Pradeep Swain on tabla, Arun Thapa on keyboard, Deepak Sahu on rhythm, and Ashok Das on flute, added a rich layer to the cultural celebration.

The auditorium, brimming with literature enthusiasts, music aficionados, media representatives and students from across the city, witnessed a seamless and beautiful execution of the program, credit to the diligent efforts of the convener, Dr SM Yahiya Ibrahim, and SPARK Coordinator Dr Yahiya Ibrahim.

The event concluded with a memorable presentation by Dr Mohammad Zakaria and college music teacher Pankaj Jha, marking a triumphant celebration of SPARK’s two decades of promoting art and culture in Karim City College.
