Jamshedpur, March 19: Several places, including Gumla, Khunti, Ranchi, Simdega, Lohardaga, and West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand, are likely to experience heavy rain today, according to a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The forecast further indicated thunderstorms, lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 50-60 kmph) and Isolated hail likely over Gumla, Khunti, Ranchi ,Simdega, Lohardaga and West Singhbhum districts of the state.

Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) are also expected at isolated places over south-eastern and adjoining central parts of the state.
Tomorrow, March 20 thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) is likely at isolated places over western, central and southern parts of the state.

On Tuesday, March 21, thunderstorms and lightning were likely to be found in isolated places over the southeast and adjoining central parts of the state.
Weathermen said a trough is running from Jharkhand to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
The trough impacts Jharkhand’s weather and will likely trigger heavy rain at several places today.
