Jharkhand News: ECRKU expresses concern over downsizing of Railway employees

Dhanbad, April 1: East Central Railway Karmchari Union (ECRKU) has expressed concern over increasing daily workload and staff downsizing.

At the two-day 32nd Central Council meeting of ECRKU concluded at  Patna on Sunday evening, ECRKU general secretary SNP  Srivastava, while addressing it, pointed out that per day, the number of passenger trains and goods trains has been increasing. Still, at the same time, the number of railway employees is reducing.

“It is a matter of concern that the workload on the employee is mounting, but their numbers are being cut to size in all departments of the organisation. Union is constantly talking with railway administration for solving workload problem of employees”, said general secretary SNP Srivastava.

ECRKY Central Committee president DK Pandey presided over the meeting.

Old Pension Scheme

General Secretary Srivastava said that having seen a positive response from the union government on the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), a notice of the India railway strike,  which was proposed on May 1, was adjourned at the Joint Forum for  Restoration of Old Pension Scheme (JFROPS )meeting.

“Union has made it clear that it will accept nothing less than OPS”, said Srivastava.

At the meeting,  ECRKU also resolved to participate in the Centenary Celebration of the Railway Federation to be held in Delhi from April 23 to 26.

Main leaders present in meeting

ECRKU Dhanbad Railway Division media in-charge NK Khawas said that at the Central Council meeting, all central committee office bearers and Dhanbad Railway Division  ECRKU branch officials were present.

The prominent leaders were Md Ziauddin, Om Prakash, Soman Dutta, Netajee Subhash, Ajit Kumar, Omprakash Roy, Navneet Kumar RK Singh, Jitendra  Kumar Sahu, Amarjit Yadav, PK Sinha, Sanjay Jha, Rupesh Kumar, BB Singh, Praveen Kumar, Chandan Kumar, AK Tiwari, Mahendra Mahto, BK Mohit, DK Nayak, Ram Narayan Choudhary, Surendra Prasad, SK Gupta, Ajit Kumar, SK Srivastava, Sunil Kumar Singh, Srikant Vimal, Nikhil Kumar, Umesh Kumar Singh, SP Singh, CP Pandey, N Verma, BK Dubey attended the meeting.
