Dhanbad, April 19: Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) on Friday felicitated the top 10 blood donor organizations that helped the hospital achieve the requirement in the year.

The function was organized by the Medical College Blood Bank. Dhanbad Sadar MLA Raj Sinha was the chief guest, and CISF DIG Vinay Kajla was the guest of honour.

Raj Sinha hails SNMMCH blood bank

Raj Sinha highly appreciated the SNMMCH blood bank for felicitating the donor organisations for their extraordinary contribution and said this would encourage other institutions to do the same, and the number of donor units would increase.

MLA Sinha, who provided a lift to the hospital on occasion, assured to provide a mobile van to SNMMCH blood bank soon so that it can easily achieve the annual target of blood requirement.

CISF DIG Vinay Kajla

CISF DIG Vinay Kajla said that voluntary institutions have a major role in blood donation. “Our mission is that no one loses life due to a lack of blood,” he said. On the occasion, he informed that CISF this year donated  635 units of blood to the Medical College Hospital.

SNMMCH blood bank in-charge Dr BK Pandey said that the blood bank’s annual requirement is 18000 units of blood, of which 17000 units have been mustered from the help of donor organizations so far.

CISF becomes highest donor in district

CISF became the top donor in the district, organizing 10 blood donation camps and donating 357 units of blood. IIT ISM students’ Fast Forward of India took second place, holding six camps and donating 301 units of blood.

Madhumita Education Memorial Foundation took third place. It organized five camps and donated 254 units of blood. Rotary Club of Dhanbad took fifth place by donating 155 units of blood in five camps. Project Life Force held one camp and donated 111 units of blood, and Kabir Gyan Mandir Giridih Retract Club held three camps and donated 92 units of blood. Prayas India of BIT Sindri Students held three camps and donated 91 units of blood.

In addition to them, JP Hospital and Research Centre, AK Roy Smriti Bhawan, Jan Adhikar Manch, Career Point Rorabandh Sindri, CIMFR Staff Club Rising Charitable Society, St Nirankari Charitable Foundation Barbadda,  Yuva Manch Matkuria, Police Jansahyog Samiti, and others were also felicitated.
