New Delhi, April 20: For breaching the IPL’s code of conduct during their encounter against the Punjab Kings on April 18 in Mullanpur, Mumbai Indians batter Tim David and batting coach Kieron Pollard have been fined 20 per cent of their match fee.

MI emerged victorious with a nine-run margin in the match which was played on Thursday, April 18.

David and Pollard’s engagement in a contentious Decision Review System (DRS) request during the match is presumed to be the likely violation.

During an Arshdeep Singh over, the MI pair were seen helping the batter at the crease, Suryakumar Yadav, with a DRS call from outside the field. On their recommendation, Suryakumar referred the call. Sam Curran, the captain of PBKS, objected, but the umpire proceeded with the request.

On Saturday, the IPL issued a statement revealing that both players were found to have committed a Level 1 offence as per Article 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. The players also acknowledged their wrongdoing.
