Ranchi, April 25: Ranchi Congress candidate Yashaswini Sahay has appealed to the Kshatriya community to support her.

Yashaswini, the daughter of former minister Subodh Kant Sahay met the people of the Kshatriya community at a meeting organized by the All India Kshatriya Mahasabha at Daladali Chowk on Wednesday and sought their blessings. Her mother, Rekha Sahay (TV artist), was also present on this occasion. ‌ She requested that Yashaswini be supported in the elections.

The Congress candidate’s strategy to woo Rajputs is considered a well-thought-out political strategy. The Rajputs are sulking after two sitting MPs of their community -Sunil Singh (Chatra) and PN Singh (Dhanbad)—were denied tickets this time. They were replaced by members of other castes.

Yashaswini said in her address that the Kshatriya community has a glorious history. “Kshatriya great men like Prithviraj Chauhan, Maharana Pratap, and Babu Veer Kunwar Singh have played an important role in the country’s independence. Kshatriyas did not kneel before the Mughals and the British. The Kshatriya community never compromised its self-respect. The contribution of Kshatriyas in the country’s freedom struggle cannot be forgotten,” she said.

Yashaswini said that no political party can be successful by ignoring the Kshatriya community. Proper respect for all communities is necessary, she maintained.

On this occasion, Binu Singh, President of the Jharkhand state unit of All India Kshatriya Mahasabha, said that Yashaswini Sahay is a youth candidate of the Congress.

“She is full of confidence. She shows enthusiasm and passion for working in public interest with new energy and new thinking. The future of the country depends on the youth. In such a situation, priority should be given to young candidates,” he added.

On this occasion, a large number of members of Kshatriya Mahasabha were present.
