Who was PK Sinha?

He was born in Raipur (Bolpur, near Shanti Niketan), West Bengal, in the Sinha family, which owned and donated the land on which Shanti Niketan University was established to Acharya Rabindra Nath Tagore.

According to lawyers who worked with him, Sinha was uncompromising about the standards of law practice and morality in public life and minced no words in criticising those who fell short of them.

He started practising in Patna in 1967 and settled in Ranchi in 1976.

In his personal life, he was a very generous and god-fearing man, an ardent devotee of the Ramakrishna Mission.

He was one of the masters of civil law and constitutional law and infused his knowledge to deal with generally all types of cases in the civil writ jurisdiction. He followed the norms of conduct of a Senior Advocate and maintained the dignity and decorum of the profession.
