Jamshedpur, April 28: Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, on Saturday, motivated the youths to continue to focus on their education even if they want to become sportspersons. He said that education helps a sportsperson scientifically analyse the situation during the game and perform well.

Gavaskar graced the city of Jamshedpur with his presence, engaging in an enlightening session with local students. The “Sunny Evening” event held at Kusum Kamani Auditorium was a vibrant convergence of inspiration and learning.

He spoke on the invaluable role of education in sports. Drawing from his illustrious career, Gavaskar motivated aspiring cricketers to prioritise education, citing its instrumental role in strategic thinking and performance enhancement on the field. He said that his father motivated him to complete his degree.

Shri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust

The evening commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, featuring esteemed figures such as Sunil Gavaskar himself. Dr C Sreenivas, Chairman of Shri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust, and Nakul Kamani, President of the school Managing Committee, were also present, among other dignitaries.
