CII Young Indians’ tips to teachers to prevent child abuse in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 28: The Centre for Excellence auditorium at Jubilee Park campus hosted an event by CII Young Indians. The “Ambassadors for Change” programme aimed to equip teachers with skills to identify and prevent child abuse.

Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar inaugurated the programme, acknowledging Young Indians’ efforts in combating child sexual exploitation. He emphasised the crucial role of teachers in strengthening this campaign.

Signs of abuse and protecting children

Led by Shubhangi Shinde from the “Arpan” organisation, attendees engaged in discussions and presentations on recognising signs of abuse and protecting children. The programme highlighted various initiatives under the Young Indians Project “Masoom,” which has sensitised over 15,000 children and caregivers in the past year.

The event also featured performances by children and emphasised the collective responsibility of safeguarding children from harm.

Rashmi Kauntia, Debasmita (Megha) Bhalotia, and Preeti Jhunjhunwala played pivotal roles in orchestrating the event.

DDC administers oath

Participants concluded the programme by taking an oath administered by DDC Manish Kumar and the district administration’s “Sweep” team, underscoring the commitment to proactive engagement in societal issues.
