Daltonganj, April 2: The Facilitation Centre for voters on election duty will be operational from May 3 at the Heritage International School at Chiyanki where the last leg of poll training is to be conducted.

All voters on election duty be they sector magistrates, micro observers, presiding officers, polling personnel, security personnel etc may walk in during recess time to the training and may avail of the facility for the postal ballot voting at the Facilitation Centre.

The nodal officer of the postal ballot voting cell, Anurag Kumar Tiwary, said all the voters on election duty opting out for postal ballot voting are to bring with them any one of the identity proofs be it voter’s card or driving licence etc.

Tiwary, who is the sub-divisional magistrate, said they should leave all their worries to us at the Facilitation Centre where our trained men will take care of them. They will find our services at the Facilitation Centre cordial and jovial. They need not stress themselves as to how to go about Form 12. Our Facilitation Centre is to do the jobs for the voters on election duty, reminded Tiwary.

However, Tiwary said, “I believe no voters on election duty will be any lethargic or indifferent so as not to walk in at the Facilitation Centre. It will harm them.”

He then explained how harm would be theirs.

“It’s these voters on election duty who are now exclusive property for the postal ballot voting. If they don’t avail of it then they can’t have access or right to cast their votes at their respective polling booths. It is all closed for them at the polling booths for the simple reason that they were cut out for postal ballot voting and that they should have used it for themselves.”

There are 12,000 voters on election duty. It includes even a flying squad team, static surveillance team besides polling personnel micro observers sector magistrate etc.

These 12000 voters are to use Form 12 and at the Facilitation Centre.

The Facilitation Centre will be functional even upto May 12.

Nodal officer of the Karmik Koshaang Kundan Kumar who is additional collector Palamu said 14 teams went out today for home voting which has started from today till May 7.

Each team has 2 polling officials, 2 cops, a micro observer, a sector magistrate and a videographer.

The home voting is on for voters aged 85 and above. It is again for PwD voters having 40 percent of disability.

Home voting will be at the doorstep of 315 voters.

Similarly, 203 PwD voters having 40 percent disability will avail of the Home voting facility.

The rollout of the Home voting teams was simple but impressive. It was not very noisy. Excitements were high.
