Damoh, Nov 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Wednesday that he will place the nation’s economy among the top three in the world during his third term in office.

Speaking at a public gathering in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, prior to the state assembly elections scheduled on November 17, Modi also expressed to keep up the battle against corruption.

The people entrusted the Congress with power in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, but their chief ministers were engaged in “satta” (betting) and the accumulation of illicit wealth, he remarked.

Modi stated that after 2014, the country’s economy advanced from the 10th to the 5th position, surpassing the United Kingdom, which had governed the nation for more than two centuries.

“In 2014, when we came to power, the country’s economy was at the 10th position. Gradually it moved to 9th, 8th, 7th and 6th but nobody was talking about it. When it reached the 5th position and left behind the UK, which ruled the nation for 200 years, everybody was surprised and started looking at India,” he said.

Modi announced that in his third term as Prime Minister, he will elevate the country’s economy to one of the top three in the world.

The Prime Minister mentioned that if the Congress were to return to power, the “85 percent commission system” would be in effect in the states, as previously acknowledged by a former Prime Minister from that party.

It’s worth mentioning that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had stated that only 15 paise of every Rupee allocated by the Central government actually reached the intended beneficiaries.

Modi added that Congress leaders have stated they would file a complaint with the Election Commission regarding his commitment to extend the free ration scheme for the underprivileged for an additional five years.

“Let them do this sin, I will continue to do good work for the people,” he said.

The Prime Minister also expressed his determination to persist in the battle against corruption and sought the people’s opinion on whether he should continue this effort, to which they responded positively.
