Jamshedpur, October 9: An 18-wheeler trailer overturned near Gandhi Ghat under the Sakchi police station limits late Thursday night, triggering panic in the area. No casualties were reported in the incident.
The trailer was reportedly carrying a consignment from Tata Ryerson and was heading towards Haryana when the accident occurred.
Sakchi police reached the spot after receiving information and initiated steps to remove the overturned vehicle from the road.

Vehicle Owner Alleges Attempt to Stop Trailer
According to the vehicle owner, two motorcycle-borne youths allegedly tried to stop the trailer near Litti Chowk shortly before the accident.
The owner claimed that the driver, fearing a possible untoward incident, did not stop and continued driving. The trailer reportedly overturned near Gandhi Ghat some time later after the driver lost control of the heavy vehicle.
The incident attracted a crowd of local residents, while the overturned trailer raised concerns about traffic movement in the area.
Police Investigate Circumstances of Accident
The circumstances leading to the accident remain unclear. Police are investigating whether the trailer overturned due to speeding, a sudden manoeuvre or another reason.
They are also verifying the vehicle owner’s allegation that the two motorcycle-borne youths had attempted to stop the trailer near Litti Chowk. The identities of the youths and the reason for their alleged attempt to stop the vehicle have not yet been established.
Police said the exact sequence of events would become clear after the investigation. No injuries were reported, averting what could have been a serious accident involving the heavy vehicle.
