Dhanbad, June 7: Despite facing deficiencies the state government-owned BIT Sindri registered record campus placement in all engineering disciplines in 2023-24 seasons.
As per the official figure of BIT Sindri, a total of 467 students against 597 eligible candidates of the institution got placement in the session. BIT Sindri achieved 70% success while IIT Mumbai got 58% placement success during the period.
Giving this information, Prof Ghanshyam, chairman, Career Development Centre (CDC), BIT Sindri said that we feel proud of the success of our students who achieved this on-campus placement recession in the IT Sector and limited job opportunities in core sectors.

“BIT’s students’ placement achievement remains significant as it is surrounded by two IITs (IIT ISM Dhanbad and IIT Kharagpur) and three NITs. Still, they became the darling of national and multinational companies and industry,” said Prof Ghanshyam.
Electrical engineers bag the highest placement
Students of the Electrical Engineering department got the highest numbers in placement. A total of 91 students were eligible candidates for a job of which 85 of them were selected in the 2023-24 placement season.

Mechanical engineering department
The mechanical engineering department had 95 eligible students of which 83 of them were picked up from the campus. In Chemical engineering, 69 students out of 83 eligible candidates were selected. In Metallurgical Engineering, 50 students were selected. The department had 56 eligible students in which 50 candidates were selected for the job.
Civil Engineering department
The civil Engineering department had 80 eligible students. Among them, 46 were selected for jobs. 29 students were selected in mining engineering. The department had 41 eligible candidates.
In Electronics and Communication, 28 students were picked up on the campus. The department had 45 eligible candidates. In the Production and Industrial Engineering department, 28 students out of 36 eligible candidates were selected. In Information Technology, 25 students got the job. The department had 37 eligible students.
The CDC chairman said that. this placement success is a testament to the transformative power of education and the immense potential of our students to make an impact in the industry. “These remarkable achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, the excellence of our faculty, and the strong industry partnerships we have cultivated,” he added.
“As we celebrate these remarkable achievements, we remain dedicated to continuously improving our programs, strengthening industry collaborations, and empowering our students to reach new heights in their chosen fields,” said Prof Ghanshyam.
