Agra, Nov 13: In relation to an alleged gang rape of a woman at an Agra hotel after coercing her into drinking alcohol, five persons have been arrested.
The woman reported to the police that she had been made to drink by her companion and a few other people, and that when she tried to object, some guys had pulled her into a room and beat her.
A case has been filed in this regard under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rape, assault, and other pertinent offences. A woman and four men have been arrested in connection with the case.
The victim of rape has been sent for a medical evaluation.
She had been working at the hotel for one and a half years as an employee. In a video that went viral, she could be seen begging for help as a man pulled her into a room.
She was heard saying in the video, “Please help me!” as she was being pulled into a room by a man. In the video, she is seen lying on the ground and alleging “torture” from the men.
The woman informed the authorities that she had been forcefully confined in a room and subjected to severe physical assault. Additionally, the alleged perpetrator compelled her to ingest alcohol against her will.
Senior police official Archana Singh stated that the Tajganj Police in Agra had been notified of a rape that had occurred at the hotel. Taking the survivor’s allegations seriously, a case was filed in the instance.
