Sultanpur, June 20: An MP-MLA court in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur issued a bailable warrant against AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday for failing to appear at a hearing related to a three-year-old case regarding violations of COVID-19 norms.
Special Public Prosecutor Vaibhav Pandey stated that the Aam Aadmi Party leader has been absent from multiple hearings in the past, leading Magistrate Shubham Verma to issue a bailable warrant against him.
According to the lawyer, the case pertains to an FIR filed against Singh on April 13, 2021.
Pandey stated that Sanjay Singh allegedly conducted an AAP meeting in Hasanpur village with 50-60 attendees without obtaining permission.

The lawyer mentioned that he is accused of violating the Epidemic Disease Act and other relevant laws.
Following investigation, the police filed a chargesheet in court against Sanjay Singh and several others.
According to him, while the other accused in the case have been granted bail, Singh has missed multiple hearings, including the one held on Thursday.
The next court hearing for the case is scheduled for June 29th.
