Jamshedpur, Nov 14: Hundreds of Chakradharpur residents in West Singhbhum late on Monday evening took out a candle light procession to mark the first martyr anniversary of the budding Hindu righteous leader Kamalnath Giri, demanding CBI enquiry in connection with his murder.

Participated by a large number of women and children, the procession passed through the important roads in the tiny township amid slogans like “Kamalnath Giri Amar Rahe” and “Hatyare ko Fasi ho.”

Kamalnath Giri (32) was killed by a gang of criminals who had attacked the emerging righteous leader with crude bombs at Pawan Square in Chakradharpur on November 13 last year.

Though Kamalnath Giri was a popular leader, the police had given a cold shoulder in the investigation of his sensational murder. It was, however, from the very beginning suspected to be political murder.

In the latter stage, it became increasingly clear that the murder must be an outcome of a deep conspiracy by some politicians who are still being allegedly given favour by the administration.

This was the reason that the family members of the slain leader have demanded a CBI probe into the murder case.

“We want CBI probe into the murder of Kamalnath Giri murder case. Then only the truth will come and the real culprits will be booked, ” observed Puja Giri, the younger sister of the slain leader while giving a floral tribute to the departed leader during the candle light procession.

There were scores of others who demanded the CBI probe into the murder case while paying homage to Kamalnath Giri during the candle light procession late on Monday evening.
