Dhanbad, June 28: All India FCI VSS Employees Welfare Association has urged the Prime Minister to restore the train fare concession facility for senior citizens.

Sardar Sewa Singh, president of FCI VSS Employees Welfare Association on Friday in his memorandum to the Prime Minister, congratulated him for forming the government for a third consecutive term and requested to restore the train fare concession facility of senior citizens that was withdrawn four years ago in wake of Covid as well as enhance EPF 95 pension amount.

The central government had on March 20, 2020 withdrawn train fare concessions for senior citizens in the wake of Covid pandemic.

Sardar Sewa Singh in the memorandum has also pointed out that under EPF 95 pension, retired employees get merely  Rs 1000 per month only. That is a meagre amount for a retired person to lead a life with a wife. “So, enhance it at least Rs 7,500 per month”, said Sardar Sewa Singh.

All India FCI VSS Employees Welfare Association has also requested the Prime Minister to implement free-of-cost treatment scheme of Rs 5 lakh for above 70 years old persons, which he had announced during the Lok Sabha elections. The Welfare Association also urged him to reduce the age bar of 70 years and put persons of 60 years age under its umbrella.
