Jamshedpur, July 2: Karim City College Postgraduate English Department organized a two-day departmental seminar which started on 1st July and continued till 2nd July.
The program was organized by the students of Postgraduate Semester-1 in the college auditorium in which 50 students of Postgraduate Semester-4 presented their research papers on different subjects.
These students expressed their views on the literary works of English literature from the sixteenth century to the twenty-first century. During this, there was a lot of discussion on the dramas King Lear, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice by the great playwright of English literature, William Shakespeare.
Apart from this, literature written by Tony Morrison, T.S. Eliot, G.B. Shah, Samuel Beckett, John Osborne and Gayatri Spivak was also discussed.

Before the seminar started, the Head of the Department Dr. S.M. Yahya Ibrahim addressed the gathering full of students and said that the seminar is the foundation stone of the thinking and ideology for the students of literature which becomes the identity of a literary person in the future. But the most important thing to note is that a student should know the difference between an article and a research paper and today we would like to see.
At the end of the seminar, apart from the professors of the English department Dr. Neha Tiwari and Dr. Basudhara Rai, Prof. Saket Kumar presented a detailed review of the entire seminar.
This seminar was conducted under the direction of Prof. A.K. Das. At the end of the program, he congratulated the students for reading literature from a different perspective and presenting it by moulding it in their thoughts.
He also praised the students for the fact that most of them presented their views in the gathering through power point presentation. He congratulated all the students and thanked them and announced the end of the seminar.
In organizing this two-day seminar, the role of students like Abhishek Bhakat, Ashish Singh, Priyanka Mahato, Hina Kausar, Madiha Jannat, Sandhayasah Kiran Kumari etc. of Postgraduate-1 was commendable.
