Jharkhand News: Deoghar Admin inks MoU with FCI for scholarship to students of mining-affected areas

Dhanbad, July 10: In a significant move Deoghar district administration has signed an MoU with Food Craft Institute (FCI) Deoghar to provide 100 per cent scholarships to students of mining-affected areas.

In this regard on Wednesday, Deoghar deputy development commissioner (DDC) Navin Kumar signed the MoU on behalf of deputy commissioner(DC) Vishal Sagar for district administration while the principal of Food Craft Institute signed on the agreement paper.

The agreement remains significant as most of the districts in Jharkhand are mining affected but the Deoghar district administration is the first among them that has come up with an ambitious project for affected students.

“This MoU aims to provide full scholarships to 20 deserving students from Sarath, Palojori, and Karon,” said DDC Navin Kumar.

Under this initiative, the selected students will receive comprehensive training in Food Craft and Management.

The training program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the Hotel Management industry. Upon successful completion of the program. The students will also be provided with placement opportunities, ensuring a pathway to sustainable employment.

The official said this collaboration reflects the commitment of both the District Administration and FCI Deoghar to support education and skill development in mining-affected areas. By providing these scholarships, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, fostering socio-economic development in the region.

“Of course it is a significant step towards empowering the youth from the district’s mining-affected areas that will help them to be skilled,” said the official.
