Jharkhand News: Hockey India high-performance director Herman Kruis visits NTHA Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 23: The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) in Jamshedpur had the honour of hosting Herman Kruis, the High-Performance Director of Hockey India, for an insightful and inspiring visit last evening.

Accompanying him was the general secretary of Hockey Jharkhand, Vijay Shankar Singh, marking a significant moment for the academy and the region’s hockey community.

During his visit, Kruis conducted an educational session with the NTHA coaches.

His extensive experience and knowledge in the field of hockey provided invaluable insights, enhancing the coaching staff’s understanding of high-performance strategies and training methodologies.

The session was interactive, with coaches actively participating and gaining new perspectives on player development and performance enhancement.

Kruis also met Hemant Gupta, CEO of Hockey Ace Foundation and Head of Sports Academies Tata Steel, and Mukul Vinayak Choudhuri, CEO of Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC).

Grassroots level development of hockey, advanced training techniques

The discussions between these eminent personalities focused on the development of hockey at the grassroots level, the integration of advanced training techniques, and the importance of collaborative efforts to elevate the sport’s status in India.

Hemant Gupta emphasised the importance of such visits and interactions, stating, “Having Kruis share his expertise with our coaches is immensely beneficial. His insights will undoubtedly help us refine our training programmes and elevate our players’ performance. We are grateful for his visit and look forward to implement the strategies discussed. I also appreciate the initiative of Hockey India and Hockey Jharkhand on paying visit to various academies and understanding gaming strategies for the development and upliftment on various aspects of Hockey in India.”

The visit concluded with a tour of the academy, where Kruis and the general secretary of Hockey Jharkhand interacted with the young players, motivating them to pursue their dreams of hockey.
