Dhanbad, July 27: The Jharkhand State Non-Gazetted Employees Federation (JS NGEF), a frontal organization of 1.70 lakh state government employees, has jumped in support of the ongoing indefinite strike of Collectorate clerks of the state and urged the government to accept their demands.

CM urged to intervene

Federation’s state general secretary Ashok Kumar Singh ‘Nayan’ has shot off a memorandum to Chief Minister Hemant Soren urging him that since the daily work of people in collectorate and development works have completely stopped due to an indefinite strike of collectorate clerks, he (CM) should immediately intervene and solve the crisis.

Collectorate clerks on strike since July 22

Collectorate clerks (Anusachiv Lipik) across the state have been on indefinite strike under the banner of the Jharkhand Anusachiviya Karmchari Sangh since  July 22 in support of their 9-point charter of demands.

Federation general secretary Ashok Kumar Singh expressed concern that despite the protests by the Jharkhand Anusachiviya Karmchari Sangh, the government did not take cognizance and employees had to go on indefinite strike.

“Such a situation would not have appeared had the state government accepted all genuine demands including upgradation grade pay of 2400. The Federation hopes the chief minister will adopt a positive attitude over the demands of staff,” said Ashok Kumar Singh.
