Ranchi, Aug. 22: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today transferred Rs 1000 honorarium to over 5.91 lakh women at a programme held in Daltonganj.
Maintaining that the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana will prove to be a milestone in taking the sisters and daughters of the state forward, Soren said, “We are working to ensure the participation of every person in the development of the state.”
Under the scheme, every woman aged between 21 to 50 years is eligible to get Rs 1000 every month.
The chief minister, who is facing flak from the BJP for not fulfilling his election promises for jobs, said the process of employing the youth continues.

He said that the government is making efforts to employ the youth of the state through various means. “Thousands of government posts have been filled and the recruitment process for many posts is going on at a fast pace. Thousands of youths will soon get jobs through Jharkhand Police and Jharkhand Excise Constable Competition Examination. Our effort is to make the youth stand on their own feet,” he added.
Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana
Soren said that the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana has been started in the direction of giving dignity, respect and rights to women. “This scheme dedicated to Nari Shakti will prove to be very helpful in moving forward for the sisters and daughters of this state,” he added.
Long line of development in four and a half years
The chief minister said that in the last four and a half years, our government has drawn a long line of development. “The work that was not done in the last 20 years after Jharkhand became a separate state, has been completed by our government amidst adverse circumstances. Today the state is moving fast on the path of development,” he asserted.
Old age pension
The chief minister said that today there is no old person in the state without pension. “Now the elderly do not have to wander here and there for pension. As soon as the prescribed age for pension is reached, the elderly are directly linked to the pension scheme,” he said.
The chief minister said that given the poverty in the state, our government is now providing pensions to those above 50 years of age under the Universal Pension Scheme.
