Dhanbad, Aug 26: Amid the ongoing crisis within the Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Saheb Prabandh Samiti, the Jharkhand Sikh Welfare Society (JSWS) has urgently called for immediate elections to resolve the issue.
Memorandum to Principal District and Sessions Judge
JSWS President Sardar Sewa Singh has submitted a memorandum to the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Patna, urging intervention in the dispute between the committee’s President, Sardar Jagjot Singh Sohi, and General Secretary, Sardar Indrajit Singh. The memorandum also requests the announcement of an election date for the Prabandh Samiti.
The Principal District and Sessions Judge in Patna is the designated patron of the Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Saheb Prabandh Samiti.
The ongoing feud between the President and General Secretary has severely disrupted the smooth functioning of the Prabandh Samiti.

“Tenure of present Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Saheb Prabandh Samiti completed in July 2023. Both the warring factions are engaged in degrading each other. Resulting work for religion and society has been badly hampered. So, Jharkhand Sikh Welfare Society urges you kindly step into matter and resolve the crisis ”, said Sardar Sewa Singh in his memorandum to the Principal District and Session Judge, Patna (Bihar).
Allegations and appeal for democratic resolution
In the memorandum, Sardar Sewa Singh also accused President Sardar Jagjot Singh, Vice-President Gurwinder Singh, and committee members Mahendra Pal Singh Dhillon, Raja Singh, Dr Gurmeet Singh, and Harpal Singh of attempting to remove General Secretary Sardar Indrajit Singh.
Sardar Indrajit Singh, who hails from Jharkhand (Jamshedpur), enjoys substantial support among members in Jharkhand, Bihar, and Bengal.
“You are the custodian of Prabandh Samiti and patron of voters of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Saheb Prabandh Samiti also. The Prabandh Samiti should function through a democratic system. When the tenure of the present committee has already been completed, removing the general secretary by a no-confidence motion is illegal. In such a situation election is the only way to solve the crisis as well as dispute among office bearers”, Sardar Sewa Singh added in his memorandum.
