Jharkhand News: Dhanbad police bust bike lifters’ gang, recover 4 vehicles

Dhanbad, Sept 3: Dhanbad police claimed to have busted a bike lifters’ gang and recovered four stolen vehicles from Bajarang Vihar Colony under the Barbadda police station, around 16 km away from the district headquarters.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shankar Kamti, giving this information to media persons on Wednesday afternoon, said that three members of the gang, including a kingpin have been arrested and raids are being conducted for the recovery of other stolen bikes.

Stolen bikes sold in Jamtara, Jamui

“The gang members used to lift bikes from different locations of Dhanbad and sell them in Jamtara, and Jamui in Bihar,” the DSP said.

The arrested bike lifters were identified as Ravi Kumar Singh of Bajrang Vihar Colony, Md Danish and Md Zakir from Rahmatganj.

Gang members after lifting the bike, stored it in the house of Ravi Kumar Singh before selling them in other districts. Police on the spot recovered four stolen bikes from the house of Ravi.

DSP Shankar Kamti said that on the directive of senior superintendent of police (SSP) HP Janardhan, a team of police under Barbadda police station officer-in-charge Sunil Kumar Ravi conducted a raid in the house of Ravi Kumar Singh and seized the stolen bikes.

Ravi Singh’s father had also consented to storing lifted bikes in his house, a police official said.
