Jharkhand News: Jamshedpur constable aspirant dies in hospital after physical test

Jamshedpur, Sept 14: Physical fitness test for recruitment as a constable in the Excise department claimed one more life on Saturday, making the total number of deaths in the drive to 13.

The 13th victim to die while undergoing the test was Muramulla Suraya alias Bala, a resident of the Burmamines locality of Jamshedpur.

Bala succumbed to illness caused by the exhausting physical fitness test at RIMS early on Saturday morning.

The victim had participated in the test, which included a strenuous run on Thursday afternoon and competed successfully. But in the evening he fell terribly sick, leading the organisers of the event to rush him to RIMS. He struggled to survive having received the necessary medical care in the hospital, but he succumbed to his illness at about 5 am today.

The authority concerned informed about the aspirant’s death to the family members, leading the latter rush to Ranchi immediately.

Bala who was in his early twenties was the eldest of three sons and would help the family by doing petty jobs for running the family.

A pall of gloom descended in the locality after the news of his sudden demise reached in the morning.
