Dhanbad, Oct 4: The Special POCSO Court in Dhanbad handed a 20-year jail term to kickboxing coach Vipul Mishra in connection with the rape of a minor player.
Public Prosecutor (PP) Abdhesh Kumar said that the Special Court Judge, Prabhakar Singh, besides awarding a 20-year jail term, also slapped a penalty of Rs 25,000 on the accused coach (Vipul Mishra).
What is the case?
As per the case filed by the parents of the player in Dhanbad Mahila police station last year, coach Vipul Mishra not only raped her but also threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident.
A seized pen drive and Instagram chat proved major evidence for the crime.

As per the FIR, coach Vipul Mishra raped her during the international Training Camp held in Darjeeling from September 1 to 10 last year. He threatened to deprive her of participating in the national championship in Ranchi if she opened her mouth.
Coach Vipul Mishra again tried to rape her in Ranchi Khelgaon on September 22 when she reached there to participate in the National Kickboxing Championship. When friends of the victim girl protested the gesture of coach Vipul Mishra, his accomplices assaulted them and an FIR was lodged in Khelgaon in this connection.
On the same evening parents of the victim girl also lodged an FIR at the Dhanbad Mahila police station. The police filed the chargesheet in court on December 31.
