Chandigarh, Oct 5: Haryana registered a voter turnout of 61 per cent by 5 pm on Saturday. Till 3 pm the turnout was 49.13 per cent whereas till 1 pm it was recorded to be 36.69 per cent.
Voting began at 7 am on Saturday for 90 assembly seats in Haryana and continued till 6 pm.
Till 11 am, a voter turnout of 22.70 per cent was recorded in Haryana while till 9 am the turnout was 9.53 per cent.

A total of 1,031 candidates are competing across all 90 assembly constituencies, with 20,632 polling booths established for the election.

According to Pankaj Agarwal, Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, a total of 2,03,54,350 voters will cast their ballots in the Assembly Elections on October 5. This total includes 1,07,75,957 males, 95,77,926 females, and 467 individuals from the third gender.
The Chief Electoral Officer stated that the state has deployed 29,462 police personnel, 21,196 home guards, and 10,403 Special Police Officers (SPOs). Enhanced surveillance will be in place across the state to ensure that citizens can cast their votes without any fear.
The results of the Haryana Assembly elections will be announced on October 8, alongside those of Jammu and Kashmir.
