Dhanbad, Oct 5: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable, identified as Akash Kumar, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at the Layakdih CISF camp under Chirkunda police station on Saturday morning, police sources confirmed. The camp is located approximately 40 kilometres from the district headquarters.
According to Ramji Ray, the officer in-charge of Chirkunda police station, Akash Kumar, aged 24 and a resident of Pathankot, Punjab, had been posted at the Layakdih CISF Post just a month ago. His fellow constables discovered his body hanging from the ceiling fan early in the morning and immediately alerted the police.

Kumar was rushed to a nearby health centre, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The reason behind the apparent suicide remains unknown, as no note was found at the scene. Officer Ray stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to further aid in the investigation.
