Dhanbad, Oct 17: Adhiraj Mitra from Jharkhand, along with Rajesh Kumar, Md Tafsir Alam from Bihar, and Anurag Jaiswal from Bengal, has secured a joint lead after the third round of the Chess For Everyone FIDE Rating Championship, currently being held at the St. Xavier Welfare Centre in Chaibasa. All four players share the top position with three points each.
In today’s third round, Adhiraj Mitra triumphed over Anshu Ghosh, while Abhijit Das defeated Spandan Ray. Anurag Jaiswal also secured a full point against Aniket Verma.
Other notable results included Piyush Kumar beating Piyush Kumar Mishra, Gagan Sahu overcoming Manoj Kumar, and Rajesh Kumar defeating Anmol Murarka.

Key matches in tomorrow’s fourth round
Organizing secretary Basant Khandelwal announced that the fourth round will take place tomorrow, featuring key matchups.
On board one, Bengal’s Abhijit Das will face Jharkhand’s Manish Sharma, while Anurag Jaiswal will compete against S. Pathak on board two. Kamal Kishore Debnath is set to clash with Adhiraj Mitra, and Shubham Kumar will play against Kathak Ali Dey.
A total of 216 players from various states are participating in the championship. International Arbiter (IA) Jayant Bhuyan serves as the chief arbiter, with Vikram Kumar and Abhishek Acharya assisting as arbiters.
