Jamshedpur, Oct 18: As the city of Jamshedpur mourns the passing of one of most treasured icons,  Ratan N. Tata, the management, staff, and students of Loyola School came together this morning to honour his memory and legacy during a solemn assembly.

The gathering, led in prayer by the Rector, Fr. K. M. Joseph, witnessed a heartfelt tribute by the school community, which included a prayer song, a tribute by a student, a Parsi prayer, and a floral Shraddhanjali. The atmosphere was filled with respect and admiration for the visionary leader who left an indelible mark on the world.

Ritik Kumar, the School Vice President, shared his profound feelings in a touching speech. He spoke of Ratan Tata’s rich legacy and his everlasting impact on the community. As an alumnus of Campion School, Mumbai, a Jesuit institution, Tata’s connection to Jesuit values ran deep.

His life was an embodiment of the Jesuit spirit of “giving back to society” and tirelessly working for the welfare of others, especially the marginalized. Ritik noted that Tata’s efforts were never just about building companies but about creating a more equitable world for all.

Following Ritik’s tribute, a Parsi prayer was recited, emphasizing the virtues of love, charity, and forgiveness—principles that Ratan Tata upheld throughout his life. His leadership, compassion, and selflessness were celebrated as enduring examples for the next generation.

The assembly concluded with Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes offering his homage to the inspirational leader. In his message, he urged the students to carry forward Tata’s vision of creating a better, more compassionate world. He reminded them that the legacy of Ratan N. Tata aligns closely with the mission of Jesuit education: service to others, social justice, and the pursuit of excellence.
