THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

New Delhi, Nov 1: The prices of jet fuel, also known as ATF, were raised by 3.3% on Friday, while the price of commercial LPG used in hotels and restaurants saw an increase of Rs 62 per 19-kg cylinder. These adjustments were made as part of the monthly review in response to international oil price trends.

Domestic oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), commonly referred to as jet fuel, by Rs 2,941.5 per kiloliter, effective November 1.

As a result of this latest price hike, ATF rates in major cities have reached Rs 90,538.72 per kiloliter in Delhi, Rs 93,392.79 in Kolkata, Rs 84,642.91 in Mumbai, and Rs 93,957.10 in Chennai.

The price increase follows two rounds of reductions that had brought rates to their lowest levels this year. On October 1, the ATF price was decreased by 6.3% (Rs 5,883 per kiloliter), and on September 1, it was cut by Rs 4,495.5 per kiloliter, or 4.58%.

In addition to the rise in jet fuel prices, OMCs have also increased the cost of 19-kilogram commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 62. Consequently, the new prices for these cylinders are Rs 1,802 in Delhi, Rs 1,911.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1,754.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,964.50 in Chennai.

This hike impacts commercial LPG users, while prices for domestic LPG cylinders remain the same.

This marks the fourth consecutive monthly increase in commercial LPG prices. On October 1, prices rose by Rs 48.5 to Rs 1,740. Earlier, rates had been raised by Rs 6.5 per cylinder on August 1 and by Rs 39 on September 1. These four price hikes come after four months of reductions.

During the four price reductions, rates were decreased by Rs 148 per 19-kg cylinder, while the subsequent four rounds of increases have raised prices by Rs 156 per cylinder.
