Dhanbad, Nov 5: Babadham has been transformed into a ‘City of Paintings’ as artists from Deoghar adorned the roadside walls with their creative artworks to raise awareness for the upcoming assembly elections.
The initiative, part of the ‘Paint My City’ program organized by the Deoghar district administration, attracted hundreds of participants of varying ages—boys, girls, youth, and seasoned artists—who gathered at Jalsar Park to showcase their artistic talents.
The artists created paintings related to the assembly elections, conveying important messages about the significance of voting through their live demonstrations. Many of the artworks featured mythological themes and local tourist attractions to engage and motivate voters.
The event quickly became a focal point for the community, drawing large crowds of city residents eager to witness the artistic displays.

Praise from ECI observers
General observers from the Election Commission of India (ECI), including L. Lenbawritik (Deogarh Sadar seat), Lathkar Sri Srikesh Balaji Rao (Madhupur seat), and Sumitha Paramatha (expenditure observer), expressed high praise for the district administration’s initiative in organizing such a program and encouraged the participants.
The observers noted that the artists successfully showcased their exceptional talent to capture the attention of voters and commended the Deoghar district administration for involving the community in the awareness campaign.
District administration’s commitment to voter engagement
Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Returning Officer (RO) Vishal Sagar closely monitored the program alongside his election committee members.
Deputy Election Officer Shailesh Kumar, District Public Relation Officer Rahul Kumar Bharti, District Sports Officer Santosh Kumar, Assistant Public Relation Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi, and other officials were also present at the event.
DC Vishal Sagar emphasized that various programs under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative are being organized across all three assembly constituencies—Deogarh Sadar, Madhupur, and Sarath—to achieve 100% voter turnout. He expressed optimism that the ‘Paint My City’ program would effectively raise voter awareness.
“We hope this programme will help in raising awareness among voters”, he said.
