Dhanbad, Nov 5: Voting through postal ballots for the assembly elections began in Deoghar district on Tuesday across three assembly seats.

Deoghar Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Vishal Sagar informed that postal ballot voting will continue from November 5 to 18. To facilitate this, three polling booths have been set up in each assembly constituency: Deoghar Sadar, Madhupur, and Sarath.

Designated booths and other details

The assembly elections for these three seats in Deoghar district are scheduled for the second phase on November 20.

Voting through postal ballot has commenced at booths set up at Saraf High School, the Collectorate, and the Police Line for staff and officers involved in election duties. These arrangements are designed to ensure that officials on duty can participate in the voting process.

Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar explained that staff and officers deployed for election duties, as well as those involved in essential services, will be able to cast their votes through postal ballots at designated booths across the district.

“The voter will have to show ID fixed by the Election Commission of India for postal ballot voting at the booth,” said Vishal Sagar.

Political parties advised for representation

The Deputy Commissioner has also requested that all political parties and independent candidates ensure the presence of their representatives or agents at the designated booths during polling hours, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Earlier in the day, Vishal Sagar visited all designated booths to review the voting process and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made for postal ballot voting.
