Jharkhand polls: Polling parties leave for 1913 booths in six constituencies of East Singhbhum

Jamshedpur, Nov 12: Polling parties this afternoon left for 1913 booths in six constituencies of East Singhbhum, where voting in the first phase will take place tomorrow, November 13.

The voting will start at 7 am and continue till 5 pm in all the booths.

The polling parties were sent from the two dispatch centres LBSM College and Jamshedpur Co-Operative College  under the supervision of District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal.

From LBSM College polling parties left for Baharagora, Ghatshila and Potka and from Jamshedpur Co-operative College poll parties went to  Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West assembly constituencies.

EVMs, VVPATs and control units were distributed among polling personnel from both the dispatch centres.

18,73,589 eligible voters in East Singhbhum

In a joint briefing of the sector officials and the sector police officers, the District Election Officer issued instructions for free and fair elections.

In all 18,73,589 voters of the district will exercise their franchise in six assembly constituencies of East Singhbhum district.

The polling officials and other staff were excited before leaving for various polling stations.

The Election Commission Of India (ECI) on October 15 had announced the schedule for the assembly polls in Jharkhand.

Jharkhand will vote in two phases, with 43 constituencies going to the polls on November 13, and 38 constituencies on November 20.

Counting for both the phases of assembly elections will take place on November 23.
