The content of the episode is that on Friday, a meeting of the gram sabha was at Rudee Deeh panchayat to select one Sewika. The selection went off peacefully. One Soni Kumari was selected as Sewika. Her merit was counted in full view of the Aam Sabha.  She was given a provisional selection letter of her too on the spot during the Aam Sabha said the CDPO Anita Kumari.

Here broke out the brawl. A section of people of the Aam Sabha raised questions about the selection of Soni Kumari.

CDPO Anita Kumari told this correspondent today, “The ugly situation was pre-planned. Otherwise, what is the use of lathi, danda, kudal in the Aam Sabha? The motive was to create disturbances.”

Irate mob smashes windscreen

Anita Kumari said, “The irate mob smashed the windscreen and rear screen of the car of supervisor Sunita Kumari with which we had gone to conduct and monitor the Aam Sabha. The car has suffered huge damages.”

“It was a deliberate attempt to derail the selection of the Sewika. I told people there to lodge a written protest against this selection and if this selection of the Sewika is found flawed then it will be cancelled. But the people were determined to cause us harm and abort the selection, process,” she said.

She alleged there was a posse of police force there during the proceeding to the Aam Sabha but it remained a mute spectator to the ruckus created there.

Police denies inaction

On the other hand, the officer in charge of the Nawa Jaipur police station Sanjay Kumar Rajak said, “The police force saved the situation from going any worse. It was no mute spectator to it. The charge that the police did nothing is baseless.”

The police officer said, “The immediate provocation was that the car in which were the CDPO and the supervisor and which was in terrible hurry and speed gave an impression of their run from the venue of the Aam Sabha.”

The locals believed the two had made a wrong selection and so were making a hasty exit from the venue.  Bishrampur SDPO Surjit Kumar said police have begun its investigation and it will be done in a very transparent manner.
