New Delhi, Nov 22: The Supreme Court on Friday put a stay on the disqualification of six chief parliamentary secretaries appointed by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government in Himachal Pradesh.
The Supreme Court stayed the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s ruling that declared the appointment of chief parliamentary secretaries and parliamentary secretaries in the state unconstitutional.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar stated that no further proceedings would take place in connection with the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s decision to annul the appointment of six MLAs as chief parliamentary secretaries.

However, the court clarified that no further appointments would be made by the state government, stating that such actions would violate the law.
The Supreme Court also served a notice to BJP leader Kalpana Devi, who had approached the high court regarding the appointment of chief parliamentary secretaries, asking for her response within two weeks and setting the matter for hearing after four weeks.
The matter has been tagged with the pending petitions in the Supreme Court on this issue.
