New Delhi, Dec 27: India’s most wanted terrorist, Abdul Rehman Makki, the deputy chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba and a key conspirator of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, has reportedly died in Lahore, Pakistan. As per reports, he passed away due to a heart attack.

Makki, a relative of terrorist Hafiz Saeed, was designated as a global terrorist by the United States. He was responsible for overseeing terror funding for Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Abdul Rehman Makki was designated as a global terrorist by the United Nations Security Council under the 1267 ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaeda Sanctions List. His assets were frozen, and he was subjected to a travel ban.

As per the UN’s website, Makki was among the key leaders of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa. Hafiz Saeed and Makki have been believed to be behind several major attacks in India.
