Between April 2021 and October 2024, a record 4,44,301 women of reproductive age were screened for cervical cancer using the Jharkhand Model of cervical cancer screening and treatment. This effort marks a significant milestone in promoting women’s health and creating awareness about reproductive health and hygiene in rural Jharkhand.

In 2024, Dr. Kashyap successfully organized three Mega Health Protection Camps in Gua, Goelkera, and Tonto of Kolhan, focusing on women’s health and vision care. Her efforts have fostered a growing social transformation, encouraging rural women to not only care for their health but also educate others about diseases such as cervical cancer.

Dr. Kashyap is also committed to building a robust network of trained human resources to ensure sustainable healthcare delivery in rural areas. During the health camps, gynecologists and government doctors receive training in digital video colposcope-guided cryo treatment, enabling them to continue providing care at government hospitals.

‘Drishti Suraksha’ Abhiyan

For over 33 years, Dr. Bharti Kashyap has been leading the ‘Drishti Suraksha’ Campaign, benefiting more than two million school students in Jharkhand. The initiative has also provided eye care to marginalized groups, including primitive tribal communities, victims of human trafficking, newspaper vendors, diabetic patients, elderly residents, slum dwellers, spastic children, athletes, and truck drivers.

This year, the Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank performed 116 corneal transplants, with a target of 150 transplants by year-end. To date, the eye bank has conducted approximately 1,000 corneal transplants, offering the gift of sight to countless individuals.

Dr. Bharti Kashyap’s relentless dedication to social service has been recognized at the national level with the IMA National President’s Appreciation Award for Women in Best Social Activity.
