Jamshedpur, Dec 30: In a tragic road mishap near Kanchi river in the Tamar police station area, three youths from Jamshedpur were killed, while two others sustained grevious injuries.
The injured were admitted to RIMS, Ranchi for treatment, where one of them is reported to be in critical condition.
Hit by truck from behind
The mishap took place on the busy Ranchi-Tata National Highway-33 near Kanchi River on Sunday afternoon when two bikes were hit by a speeding truck.
Three riders on one bike died on the spot, while two on the other bike were injured.
The youths, who all were friends, were traveling from Jamshedpur to Ranchi’s Jonha Falls for a picnic. As they approached the diversion near Kanchi River in Tamar, a truck rammed into both motorcycles from behind.

The deceased have been identified as Sumit Mishra (20), Pulkit Singh (18), and Nikhil Kumar (18), all residents of Bhuiyandih under the Sitaramdera police station area in Jamshedpur.
Two injured referred to RIMS
The injured, Prince Kumar and Shubham Kumar, were initially treated at Tamar CHC before being referred to RIMS for advanced care.
Soon after the accident, local residents blocked the highway for a brief period, disrupting traffic on NH -33. However, normalcy was restored within an hour after intervention by local administrative authorities.
Tamar police station in-charge Roshan Kumar Jha said that the families of the victims were informed soon after the mishap.
