Hazaribag, Jan 8: Armed criminals ambushed and killed Santosh Singh, a displaced leader and CCL worker, in the Potanga Lukaiyatand area under the Urimari police station.

According to reports, the attackers, riding motorcycles, shot Santosh three times—in the chest, stomach, and head. He was rushed to RIMS but succumbed to his injuries. It is believed that Santosh was linked to a local organization, raising suspicions that the murder might be connected to a levy dispute. The incident has spread fear and tension across the Barka Sayal region.

Barkagaon MLA Roshan Lal Chaudhary Visits the Site

Following the attack, Urimari police station in-charge Ramkumar Ram and Giddi police station in-charge Kundan Kumar arrived at the scene to begin their investigation. Barkagaon MLA Roshan Lal Chaudhary also visited the site after receiving the news and expressed concern over the growing criminal activities in the area. He criticized the administration for failing to curb rising crime in Koyalanchal and called for stricter action to prevent such incidents.

The incident has left residents angry and agitated. They demanded the closure of Urimari Colliery, Birsa Colliery, and New Birsa Colliery until the culprits are arrested and justice is served.
