Dhanbad, Feb 8: Dhanbad Principal District and Sessions Judge Birendra Kumar Tiwari underscored the collective responsibility towards society, stressing the importance of fulfilling duties in a timely manner.

While inaugurating a workshop on Multi-Stakeholder Consultation, Judge Tiwari, who also serves as Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), highlighted the delays in compensating families of road accident victims due to untimely submission of accident-related documents in court.

He pointed out that the Supreme Court (SC) mandates submission of such documents within 30 days, and failure by the concerned police officials could result in legal action.

Need for Prompt Documentation in Road Accident Cases

Judge Tiwari emphasized that timely submission of accident-related documents would ensure swift compensation for victims’ families. He called it both a legal obligation and a social responsibility to adhere to the SC directive.

“So, police officials must ensure the submission of accident-related documents in court within the stipulated time as per Supreme Court order,” he said, addressing the workshop.
