Daltonganj Feb 10: A day ahead of the JAC’s twin exams beginning February 11, the town police led by its officer in charge Deobrat Poddar today reached around half a dozen coaching centres and interacted with its management.
The purpose of the visit was to drive the point home that coaching centres would not meddle with the exams in any way or by any course.
Strict Monitoring to Prevent Digital Interference
The police officer first visited a computer centre. Speaking to the Jharkhand Story correspondent Poddar said, “It’s for the purposes of fair and peaceful exams of JAC (Class 10th and 12th exams). These days digital intervention in the exams is a serious challenge.”
“I am told by the management of this computer centre that it only imparts courses and training in computer application. Nevertheless, police have told this centre to keep itself at bay from any such activity that may have any impact on the proceeding of the JAC’s twin exams,” he added.
The police’s message was “No physical or digital intervention in the JAC’s twin exams.”

Visit to Coaching Centres and Surveillance Measures
The police officer further said, “I went to another popular coaching centre Lakshya. It’s in the posh area. It is also not very far from the girls’ college.”
“Here at this Lakshya coaching centre Akash told the police that students who are to take their exams are already packed up from here,” added the police officer.
The Lakshaya coaching centre was found full of cabins and the arrangement of light was proper.
Police officer Poddar said, “Akash of this Lakshya coaching centre who introduced himself as one who looks after the coaching centre informed that the entire teaching space here is under the surveillance of the CCTV cameras.”
Sources said the owner of the Lakshya coaching centre Pawan was less communicative and looked more concerned as for some time nobody here could guess as to why town police had arrived there.
A lady official of the Lakshaya coaching centre Sweety Verma too came out of her cabin following the footfall of the police officer and his team besides a small contingent of the media persons who too arrived there.
It was a routine visit ahead of the JAC’s twin exams, added the police.
Poddar said, “Police have asked all coaching centres to remain aloof from the JAC’s twin exams except where these are to refresh the students academically for the next day’s paper or subject.”
Sources said the coaching centres do call in their students for a refresher course of what they have learnt for the next day of the exams.

Libraries on the Rise
The police officer told this correspondent, “I noticed one thing. It’s very surprising. It’s the mushrooming of the libraries. I visited a couple of more coaching centres where I found libraries.”
Sources said never in the past 10 years there has been such a fleet of libraries coming up in Daltonganj as it’s found these days here.
The police officer reiterated it’s doubtful that libraries will be any replacement for the coaching centres.
He further said the management of the coaching centres was found reasonable and co-operative.
However, police will keep vigil and watch for the fair exams said Poddar.
